Pan American World Airways, one of the most famous names in aviation history, is working toward a comeback, and Talaat Captan is one of the four executives leading the effort alongside Craig Carter, Steve Craig and Jeff Cova.
What the plan includes
- Returning Pan Am to the air as a scheduled charter service.
- Opening a Pan Am travel agency in Laguna Hills, California.
- Reopening the Pan Am Experience, the 1970s in-flight dinner experience Captan created at Air Hollywood.
For Captan, the project builds on more than a decade of keeping the Pan Am spirit alive. The Pan Am Experience has welcomed guests aboard a recreated 747 cabin since 2014, and Air Hollywood’s collection includes original Pan Am seats and service pieces.
The team sees the brand as a way to combine nostalgia for the golden age of flying with new business in aviation, travel and entertainment. Updates on the revival will be posted here as the plans move forward.
